Systems thinking
How we work
System
TerraVac thinks in systems.
Working closely with our partners, from the first prototype to a solution ready for series production.
The difference lies in the approach. We integrate our technology into our partners' products, not the other way round. That requires a deep understanding of requirements, manufacturing processes and regulatory frameworks, and a collaboration that often starts long before the first prototype.

How we work together
From prototype to series production.
Proof
The technology proves its performance in the customer's product.
Duration
6–10 months from the workshop.
Goals
Shared understanding of goals and possibilities
Understanding of the technology established
Suitable products identified
Functional prototypes built
All relevant tests passed
Your investment
Participation in the project, no other costs.
Quantity
1–5 prototypes

Shape
Product ready for market, production ready for implementation.
Duration
12-18 months
Goals
Product developed to market maturity, joint patents filed where applicable
Machines, equipment and processes specified and ready for implementation
Pilot projects converted
Implementation decision prepared
Your investment
Share of the development costs.
Quantity
Around 50 pre-series units, possibly a small series of fewer than 200 units.

Launch
Market launch of the product, scalable production.
Duration
2-5 years
Goals
Site, staff and machinery are built up
Semi-automated production is optimised
Sales start and are gradually expanded
Planned volumes are reached
Your investment
Purchase of products
Quantity
5,000–10,000 units per year, depending on the product

Scale
Industrialisation and automation.
Duration
>5 years
Goals
Fully automated production for the full market potential
Scaling options include the customer building its own production, a joint venture, or TerraVac expanding and continuing to produce
Your investment
Depending on the chosen option
Quantity
More than 10,000 units per year

Business models
You decide the level of depth at which we accompany you on this journey.

Development consulting
We analyse whether and how our technologies can be integrated into an existing or planned product, technically, economically and in regulatory terms.
System service
You handle the manufacturing yourselves, and we supply the complete system for it, ranging from licenses for our patents and materials such as high-barrier film and perlite to process know-how and ongoing quality assurance.
System manufacturing
You receive the finished product from us. Typically, we develop and manufacture the system ourselves in Karlstadt. However, flexible models are also possible, ranging from setting up production at your site to establishing a joint venture.
Cooperation
The best way to see for yourself is through an initial technical consultation or by visiting us directly in Karlstadt, where you can experience the technology and manufacturing firsthand.
Get in touch with us, and we will work together to determine whether your application is a good fit for our technology.

Your contacts
Hanno Großeschmidt
Hanno leads TerraVac as CEO and has taken the path from technology to market-ready company once before, as managing director of Encory, a joint venture of the BMW Group and interzero. He is the one who brings everything together when a first conversation is to become a joint project, covering the business model, framework and commitment across every phase of the collaboration.
Markus Stieglbauer
As Head of Business Development, Markus focuses on where vacuum insulation already solves problems today and where it will tomorrow. He is your first point of contact if you want to find out whether your application is one of them, from an open first conversation to a joint assessment of whether a project works technically and economically.
Jochen Hiemeyer
Jochen has worked on vacuum insulation as a physicist for more than 20 years, many of them at Liebherr-Hausgeräte. As Head of Technology, he develops our products and is responsible for their implementation along the entire value chain, from product architecture and manufacturing processes to quality assurance. When it comes to the physics behind the insulation, talk to him.
