GLAXYN is our transparent xenon-based vacuum glass.
It insulates like vacuum insulation while staying transparent, something conventional insulation cannot do.
Where we stand.
The technology is currently at prototype stage. That is why there is less information here than for STRATMO or SILYNT. We will add to it as the project progresses.
In GLAXYN glazing, a transparent high-barrier film sits in the interlayer of laminated safety glass. It holds the noble gas xenon at a fraction of atmospheric pressure over the long term. At this pressure, xenon can make full use of its low thermal conductivity without driving up costs. At the same time, the low pressure suppresses convective heat transfer, even with large gaps between the panes.
